NOTICE TO ALL WHITTAKER ARMS CCW PERMIT HOLDERS AND APPLICANTS

New Jersey has revised the July 21, 2023 mandates concerning the CCW course. The CCARE (Civilian carry assessment evaluation) is now the protocol for all CCW holders and all future applicants for CCW.

We have identified 3 possible groups of applicants who qualified thru Whittaker Arms CCW in regard to Requalifications.

A. If you obtained your CCW permit before December 22, 2022 and your permit does not expire until after December 22, 2023 you must requalify under the CCARE protocol.

B. If you obtained your CCW permit between December 23, 2022 and July 21, 2023 and your permit does not expire until after December 22, 2023 you must re-qualify under the CCARE protocol.

C. If you qualified after July 21, 2023 on the HQC2-modified course of fire you are in compliance with the new mandate.

Whittaker Arms CCW & staff stands behind our commitment to present a professional and thorough product to our customers. While we sympathize with the confusion and inconvenience that these changes may have caused, we have spent countless hours on understanding these new mandates so that we can continue to offer an outstanding service to our customers.

Whittaker Arms CCW is currently scheduling customer re-qualifications. Whittaker Arms CCW have implemented and are utilizing the new CCARE course of fire for all Qualifications moving forward.  

The Deadline to Requalify with (CCARE) is December 31, 2023  

Requalification fees for CCARE are $75.00 and the range time is approximately 30 minutes for (1) firearm.  *$25.00 for each firearm you want to requalify with.

* Please Note:  CCW Holders who were issued their permit by a Judge prior to December 23, 2022 were required to qualify with every firearm they planned on carrying.  Upon renewal of your CCW permit moving forward, only (1) firearm will be required during qualifications and you will be able to carry whatever you want that is similar to what you qualified with (ie semi-auto or revolver).

NOTICE TO NEW CUSTOMERS SEEKING THEIR INITIAL CCW PERMIT

If you are a customer seeking to obtain a CCW permit for the very first time you must take the full course of instruction and range training which includes full instruction on the New Jersey Attorney General’s Use of Force/ Deadly Force Policy and the CCARE protocol.

Qualification fees for full Course & CCARE are $175 and the total time is approximately 3-1/2 hours.
